Removing programs in Macintosh Operating System is not hard matched to the procedure in other operating systems. Mac OSX does not support software records in a register. Whether you are a first time user, or a temporary Mac user, a period will eventually appear when you will demand to delete a application or several.

Where are programs located in MacOS operation system?

Ctrl-Click (or right click)on the name of the program that you want to delete, and click Show Original. The program icon will be present in the dock. A window will open displaying the original application’s position. To uninstall the application, you simply move it into the Trash folder.

Make sure the Mac computer is turned on, and close all applications. Find your hard drive icon on the desktop, that may say Macintosh HD.

[ Open the on the Applications folder and review all the programs that were set up on the Mac.

Look through the list of accessible apps and choose the ones that must be removed. To remove the application:

1.            Choose it, and click the “control” key once; inside the menu that opens, choose the Move to Trash option.

2.            As an alternative, find the file in the program directory, pick it, and drag it to the Trash on the desktop.

Make sure you have removed all files related to the program.

•              Programm libraries can be awesome, taking up a great deal of data storage capacity. It is best to remove these. Examples of applications that require significant support libraries are entertainment applications such as Garageband and DVD SP. These are stored in the Application Support directory within your user’s Library, or alternatively Library-application support.

•              Program settings take up small space; you may choose to store them for later use if you need to. These preferences are kept in the Preferences directory within the user’s Library “Library-Preferences”, or can as well be kept inside system-wide Library hosted at the root of the system volume.

To erase  program support files:

1.            Select “control” and “f” and apply the appropriate search terms to search the name of the program.

2.            Locate each piece of date in the designated folder, and remove.
